Marloth Park Accommodation offers the best of both, allowing avid bird watchers to roam the dirt roads in and around the park but still offers the thrill of a big 5 Game drive.
Buffalo , rhino and lion are confined to Marloth’s game reserve “Lions Spruit”. Marloth has its own wildlife and boasts four of the big five with the exception of elephant. The crocodile river forms the boundary between Marloth Park and the Kruger National Park so you are likely to spot elephants playing in the river on an early morning walk or a mountain bike ride along the river. Lion have been spotted on occassion but that’s for the ‘early birds’ and ‘sparrow farts’.
Kudu , Zebra , Giraffe , Blue wildebeest , Nyala , Impala and Warthog aren’t restricted by fences and roam freely between the units that are built on 1500 hectares. Simcha lodge has its own watering hole and a salt lick that help attract the local wildlife to the lodge.
If you love your photagraphy then you will love sitting on the patio watching the buck drink from the watering hole or even on occassion from the splash pool.
